After almost one year, our cassavas were ready for harvest. All family members of our small community joined one week of harvest work. For three consecutive years, we have worked together in this agricultural cooperative initiative. The main goal is to help each other in such a way no one falls in the trap of loan sharks. The massive and growing presence of loan sharks gives little room of opportunity for poor farmers to have better life. We try to make difference and in the same time to encourage our Christians to become agents of change. 

This year our Christian community got a significant profit from both cassava and corns. Half amount of the profit has been equally shared to all family members, while another half is used as capital for the upcoming planting season. We have tought to plan more sustainable crops in the nearby future so that we can give our best to protect the environment from massive problem of deforestation. Umphang has witnessed a growing deforestation within the last couple of years mostly encouraged by crop economy of the country.
