Xavier Oratory Construction Project

Designed by a Spanish architech, this first Catholic Church in Umphang looks simple but exotic as it tries to accomodate two main aspects. First, Karen ethnic architecture with wooden stillt house style as commonly found in Umphang. Second, the tale of a crab that crawled up to Saint Francis Xavier carrying his lost crucifix between its pincers. The two unique roofs of the chapel are seen holding the cross

  • Sound System

    For a better audio experience in the liturgical moment, we are looking for sound system with this following specification:

    1. AMM108 Bose multipurpose loudspeaker. It features a passive, coaxial two-way design with a 1.7-inch compression driver, 8-inch low-frequency transducer, and high output: 128 dB peak. Its proprietary Beamwidth Matching Waveguide ensures signature Bose sound quality, delivering consistent frequency response, clarity, and projection across the coverage area — a remarkably powerful audio experience for both performers and audiences.

    2. Sound mixer which manages the sound distribution both for outdoor and indoor as the church has an open space too.

  • Tabernacle

    As an essential part of a Catholic church, a tabernacle represent the sacramental presence of God in the assembly of people of God. We choose a wooden design for this purpose so that it can stick with the whole design of the church. Its specification as follow: - made from a teak tree - size 30 x 30 cm - orned with IHS, Jesus the Savior of the World It costs us around 25,000 bath

  • Virgin Marie Cave

    As part of our traditional devotion, we give special space for Virgin Marry as patron of our missionary work. We are looking for a support for this initiative.

  • Saint Francis Xavier Statue

    A statue of Saint Francis Xavier as the saint patron of the Church and Catholic community of Umphang will be placed in the church. We are then looking forwart to getting your support too.

  • Electone /Organ

    Anyone who sings better, prays twice. We are in need of basic musical instrument to accompany our prayers. We are looking forward to having a Yamaha Electone Stagea ELB-02 in our new church.
